Trent Herring is a lifelong resident of Blanding, Utah, with deep roots in the community and a strong commitment to public service. Having spent his entire life in Blanding, Trent has a personal appreciation for the people, traditions, and values that make the community a special place to call home.

Trent graduated from San Juan High School in 2002. From 2003 to 2005, he served a mission in Recife, Brazil, an experience that strengthened his commitment to service and his appreciation for people from diverse backgrounds. In August 2005, he married the love of his life, Bailey Herring. Together, Trent and Bailey are the proud parents of six children: Kessia, Kreed, Baze, Chattum, Thos, and Stoss.

Trent brings extensive leadership, administrative, and organizational experience to his role as Mayor. He previously served as Blanding City Manager from 2024 to 2025, where he gained firsthand knowledge of City operations, finances, infrastructure, and the opportunities and challenges facing the community. Since August 2025, he has served as Human Resources Director for Utah Navajo Health System, where he provides leadership and support to employees and operations throughout the organization.

As Mayor, Trent believes effective leadership begins with listening. He has tremendous confidence in Blanding City's employees and recognizes the knowledge, experience, and dedication they bring to serving the community each day. His priority is to support City staff and work collaboratively with the City Council while listening closely to the residents of Blanding to understand where improvements are needed and where the City can continue building upon its strengths.

Drawing on his previous experience as City Manager, Trent hopes to provide thoughtful and experienced leadership as Blanding plans for the future. He is committed to encouraging responsible growth, maintaining strong City services and infrastructure, supporting local families and businesses, and ensuring that decisions are made with the long-term interests of Blanding's citizens in mind.

For Trent, serving as Mayor is an opportunity to give back to the community that has shaped his life and provided a home for his family. He is honored to serve the citizens of Blanding and looks forward to working together to preserve the character and values of the community while preparing Blanding for a strong and successful future.
