A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

- ELECTED 2018 -

  "I once had a conversation with a young man whose mother grew up in Blanding.  Over the years he came here to visit his grandparents. Even though he never lived here he said it always felt like home.  I have had similar conversations with other people over the years. People who have roots here whether they have lived here or not often have a special feeling for this little corner of the world.  Similarly, I know a lot of people who are more recent ‘imports’ who have developed a deep root system here as the first generation of San Juan pioneers in their families. I suppose many small towns create feelings of family and belonging but to me Blanding is special that way".
