Building Process
Before any work, development, plats, or final plans are created, the owner/developer may want to meet with Ben Muhlestein(Community Development Director) or Patrick Parsons (City Engineer/Public Works Director) to verify the suitability of the proposed project. These early discussions are mainly to review the process and go over timelines, general land use plans, utilities, and zoning of the land
Building Permits
Blanding City uses an online platform called City Inspect for all our building permits. Builders and developers are required to make an account and submit the required documents and information necessary through City Inspect. Once a permit is issued, inspections are scheduled through the online platform as well. Permits vary in turnaround time. Permit fees are usually 2-3% of the total estimated cost of the project
Utilities
Blanding City owns the sewer, water, natural gas, and power utilities within city limits. Connection fees, impact fees, and utility extension fees are the responsibility of the developer.
